Community service events don’t have to be mundane, chore like events that fail to bring out the crowds. If giving back to the local community isn’t incentive enough, try making a simple routine community service event fun by inviting a fraternity or sorority and hosting a social or mixer event later that day. A simple park clean up could be a lot more fun with good company.

Check out USA Service (http://www.usaservice.org) to find events in your area to join. You can also create events that are open to the public to get some good PR in the community.
Don’t forget about alumni!
Try announcing community service events to alums to reconnect and network. Keeping them involved is never a bad idea – especially when you could always use a few extra hands.
